Smoked Queso

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 chopped & seeded jalapeno
  • 32 oz velveeta cheese cubed
  • 20 oz diced tomatoes drained (RoTel)
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • Disposal aluminum panel (9″ X 13″)
  • Dipping chips – lime Tostitos is always a family favourite

DIRECTIONS

  • Set the smoker to 250 degrees and let it get to temp.
  • Use olive oil to fry up the ground beef in a skillet.
  • Season the ground beef with all of the listed dry spices.
  • Grab aluminum pan.
  • Mix all ingredients (except sour cream) to the aluminum pan. This includes the cooked ground beef.
  • Put the aluminum pan on the smoker and smoke for 1 hour and 45 mins. Stir halfway through cook.
  • Put the sour cream in a dollop in the middle for the last 15 minutes
  • Remove from the smoker.
  • Grab the chips and dig in.
